When it comes to writing updates, the temptation is to share all the positives because it makes for better reading….right? However, I know life has been really tough for most of the world over the last year, and so I thought I would share about the hard stuff here and the challenges we have faced.
Since YADA began we have been based in a compound close to the community we work with. This compound is shared with other people who live there and do business there. Over the last year it has become increasingly busy around the area and our staff have been concerned for the children’s safety as they walk to and from the community. The kids have been struggling to learn and concentrate with the noise.
So although a surprise when the landlord of the compound came to tell us a month ago that YADA needed to leave by the end of June, it confirmed that we needed to start looking elsewhere. A few days after this a truck smashed into the front of the building, it was a miracle no one got injured. Another sign for us that it was time for YADA to move on. Please pray we would find a great safe space to accommodate our current work and all that we dream for in the future. We would love to take our staff team away on a retreat over the summer so we can process together the last 6.5 years and where we sense God taking YADA in the future. Your prayers for provision to do this are appreciated.
The following verses from 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9 sum up what life feels like right now.
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed”.
We are choosing to speak the words of truth and life from these verses, regardless of our feelings or circumstances we know that God has not abandoned us. We know that ultimately HIS kingdom will come and HIS WILL, will be done.
